Texas Hold’em Strategies

Texas Hold'emThe most famous type of Poker is the Texas Hold’em version. Any game of Poker needs a good strategy and some luck on the player’s hand. To get the right strategy for the game, here are a few useful tips for you to follow while playing the game of Texas Hold’em.

You can play at three different levels while playing Poker, the beginner, the intermediate and the advanced level. Let us begin with the Beginners level first. Since you are a beginner the more important point is to first understand the game. Try to get the best hands possible as a beginner. Stick to the simpler hand formations.  Also remember that as a beginner you do not know much about the hands in Poker or the tricks that should be followed. These are some of the combinations of the hands that are recommended for a beginner- K-K, J-J, A-A, Q-Q, 9-9, 10-10, 8-8, A-Qs, A-Ks, K-Qs. The s indicates that the cards belong to the same suit.

Intermediate Texas Poker Hold’em players can include a few more hands in the ones recommended to them as a beginner. These are K-Q, A-10s, K-Js, A-Q, A-K, 5-5, 6-6, 3-3, 7-7, 4-4, and 2-2. Include them and make more hands and win at Poker.

Last comes the Advanced Texas Hold’em Poker player. As an advanced player you can play with connector cards, i.e. those cards that belong to the same suit and are in order. For instance a 9 of hearts and a 10 of hearts will be called connector cards. The reason why we play with connector cards is because it helps the player to get a straight, a flush or a straight flush set of cards.

Also when you are playing with the suited connectors, two bets can be called not more than that. Calling more bets causes more hands to be played.  There is a very popular strategy called the ‘Stealing the Blinds’ strategy. Under this strategy the dealer and the player both call for a raise hoping that both the small blind and the big blind will fold. This is possible when there are many players and they have folded before the flop.

The above strategies are only an overview about the various strategies that players include while playing Texas Hold’em Poker.
